HVO Project – Pat O Donnell

Pat O Donnell & Co is a family owned business that is Irelands largest supplier of plant machinery and equipment. They supply the complete range of Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta Marine & Industrial engines, Rammer hammers & breakers, Sennebogen materials handlers and Kohler engines. In mid 2022 we undertook a project alongside Pat O Donnell & Co to help reduce the company’s overall annual carbon emissions. Pat O Donnell & Co decided that a major part of this would be to run their fleet of service vans on HVO oil. Using HVO they hope to reduce their diesel road emissions by an estimated 88

Rotech took on the project to supply HVO ready fuel stations to 3 depots around Ireland and upgrade their current system in the Dublin branch. Bunded fuel stations were supplied and installed with the Piusi BSmart fuel management system. This BSmart solution offers Pat O Donnell & Co the opportunity to monitor each depot from their main office in Dublin. Along with monitoring each transaction with date, time, odometer and vehicle reg they are also able to monitor tank stock at each depot with the Piusi Watchdog system. Each of their employees has access to their respective fuel stations via the BSmart app on their smart phone.

Pat O Donnell & Co were also eager to monitor exact vehicle consumption per KM so the Fuel Economy add on was used to achieve this.
